Members of the LGBT community are sometimes welcome at a number of straight clubs throughout Waco, McLennan and Bell counties. Just don’t get “too gay” or you’re liable to get shoved a little bit when you have a drink in your hand or tripped when you’re walking by some table or even called a fag. Hey this is still Central Texas and while it’s not always the case it has been known to happen.

The good news is, there are lots of LGBT bars and clubs in nearby Austin, Dallas and Fort Worth. A recent LBGT nightclub in Killeen closed after only a few weeks but Waco has one of the best LGBT nightclubs in Texas in Connect Nightclub which features shows, male dancers, special events and lots of fun for the whole community.

2812 N. 19th Street

Waco, TX 76708

This three-in-one nightclub has a larger dance club, a cruise bar that often has special nights for karaoke, Latin nights, and other specialty parties, and a packed patio that is a favorite with almost all its customers. Probably the best LGBT club ever seen between Dallas and Austin, all members of the LGBT community and their friends are welcome. EVENTS: Karaoke, drag shows featuring both drag queens and drag kings.

Central Texas has two great LGBT campgrounds within driving distance from Baylor and Mary Hardin Baylor. So whether you are a student (you must be 18), a professor or an alumnus, you are always welcome as these fun recreational areas.
